Also not to be forgotten are the islands of Tuscany: there are seven islands in the Tuscan Archipelago National Park: Elba, Giglio, Capraia, Pianosa, Montecristo, Giannutri and Gorgona. All islands are different and have unique characteristics; to visit the island of Montecristo you have to ask for access and it can accommodate a maximum of a thousand visitors a year in well-defined periods, while Gorgona is a prison island that can be visited.
